Turbulence in the world – DN unlocks the site for new readers

The USA’s new import tariffs have caused concern around the world, and many fear a full-scale global trade war.

Due to the news developments, DN is unlocking access to its website.

“We see a strong need among readers to understand and interpret what is happening,” says DN’s editorial director Anna Åberg. Over the past week, Donald Trump has imposed trade tariffs, and several experts warn that this could lead to a recession.

“A lot has happened in a short period that could have major consequences for us in Sweden and Europe. We see that many are turning to us to better understand the situation,” says Anna Åberg.

Therefore, DN is now unlocking the website for new visitors. Anyone who registers here will receive a free subscription that ends automatically after one month.

DN has more correspondents than any other newspaper in Sweden, including in Ukraine, Germany, Brussels, Paris, Beijing, and Washington. Due to developments in the USA and Europe, we have now also appointed a correspondent in London.

DN has previously chosen to unlock its website during major news events, such as during the parliamentary election, the COVID-19 pandemic, and at the beginning of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine.
